With a gritty Michigan backdrop similar to “8 Mile” and a highly dramatic cast culled from the top Independent films. “Ashes of Eden” a Lansing, Michigan based feature film is happy to announce their young female lead, Ms. Mayra Leal. This Latin beauty was born and raised in Houston, Texas and has been electrifying worldwide audiences with her diverse acting range and powerful screen presence.
In 2009, Mayra powered onto the big screen in the Robert Rodriguez directed action film, "Machete" alongside famed actors Danny Trejo and Steven Seagal. Soon after she landed a role in an episode of the ABC series "The Deep End" directed by Lansing, Michigan born actor/director Timothy Busfield. More recently, Mayra filmed "Arena" with Samuel L. Jackson and Kellan Lutz in Baton Rouge as well as "Memphis Beat" with series leads Jason Lee and Sam Hennings. In a very short time Ms. Leal has made a name for herself as an up-and-comer on the national and international stage. She is excited to be joining such a talented cast in this emotionally charged script.
Also announced, Dennis Therrian, owner of Therrian Productions, is simply known as a beast on the music scene. Classically trained Dennis’s music range covers a vast audio landscape in the dozen’s of film scores he has composed. This Grand Ledge, MI native has also worked as the overall post production supervisor of Collective Development Inc. (CDI) is one of three Lansing area-companies producing “Ashes of Eden”. The other two companies are New House Entertainment owned by the film’s director Shane Hagedorn and Ahptic Productions where Director of Photography, T. Dominic Cochran is one of the principal owners.
The film continues to assemble a circle of seasoned artists as well as promising up-and-comers to the team. The film is expected to begin filming this fall in Mid-Michigan.
