This is one of a few versions we will be releasing. Most movies do release several versions of posters throughout a marketing campaign. The theatrical trailer is being edited in Los Angeles by former Michigander, Nathaniel Nose. It is going to take your breath away! Ashes of Eden is also being colored by T. Dominic Cochran, our Director of Photography. Sound and score is underway with Dennis Therrian. We are weeks away from a finished film! We will keep you updated on completion and our MICHIGAN PREMIERE this fall.
Our rough cut was screened in front of a test audience and was given a full theater experience. Audience members raved about our film! So happy to hear such excitement. There were lots of weeping through some of our tough, emotional scenes. After some adjustments, ASHES OF EDEN is ready for color grading, sound design, and score!
THE MIDNIGHT HOUR. This whole project, from funding, casting and crewing, production, and now editing, has came to pass in the midnight hour. As I write this, on 5.29.13 at 0009 hrs I HAVE A ROUGH CUT!!! THANK GOD. He always comes through. Always. “It shouldn't be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It's the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth. When something's difficult to come by, you'll do that much more to make sure it's even harder--or impossible-- to lose.” 60 minuted mark!
One hour in on Ashes of Eden. We are chipping away daily at this project, shaping it, and making moments. Other than my Mac Pro running a little slow, we haven't had any problems assembling the pieces. Some scratch music has been dropped in on most scenes and for transitions. IT LOOKS, SOUNDS, AND FEELS SO GOOD! We hope to have a rough cut by April 15th. That's my deadline for editing. Then, it will go for post sound work and scoring by Dennis Therrian and color/grading by Ahptic Film and Video. Our soundtrack is gonna be a stand out in this film. As we collaborate with recording artists, the music will have a very unique vibe. Keeping with our Michigan roots, most of our musical artists will hail from the Great Lake State as well. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. Keep them coming, they keep us going. Nearing the 40 minute mark on editing our picture. Editing a feature is challenging enough. Editing a feature by yourself is a bit tougher than that. Often times I can get lost in the timeline, the past, present, and future editing choices. I talk to myself on things I liked, or didn't, and what and how can this cut together. I really enjoy making those moments. The timing, the beats, and the subtle looks, all when put together right, make that scene standout. The work is there in the performances by these wonderful actors. I just have to chisel the marbel slab, shape, and contour, until its the very best it can be.
Feeling very fortunate and blessed. Thank you all. Shane Hagedorn Writer | Director | Producer ASHES OF EDEN |
